I just read an article online sensationalizing Engine Oh G12 as a new 12-man Transformer show in Japan. Whatever! The show has nothing to do with Transformers. It's yet another kiddy Super Sentai show, aka Power Rangers. I would really appreciate it if everyone just stopped raping the memory of the G1 Transformers. Thanks.
First of all, the Transformers neither have nor need pilots. And if you look at it from a purely mecha standpoint, the show clearly has different robo-DNA. Observe:

...is a direct spiritual descendant of....
Armored Fleet Dairugger XV (Vehicle Team Voltron)
...which itself was a cheap knockoff of...
Beast King Golion (Lion Force Voltron)
Class Dismissed. And believe me, I'm NOT looking forward to the inevitable big budget Voltron summer blockbuster movie, with crappy CG bullet-time and probably starring Nicholas Cage or Keanu Reeves. I'm facepalming already.
