In Japan, things work a bit differently. On Valentine's Day, Feb 14th, girls give gifts to guys they think are dreamy. Great, right? Not quite. Exactly one month later, on White Day (March 14th) the lucky guys who received valentine gifts are obligated to return the compliment by sending gifts at least 3 times the value back to their admirers.

Although I didn't plan for or realize it at the time, it was extremely apt that I flew to Vancouver on White Day. You could say it was my small way of returning a very flattering compliment. Que sera sera :) Oh yeah, it's also Pi Day! (3.14, duh)
