We wake up, check out and move to the Paris hotel/casino. The plan is to go for a buffet dinner at Mandelay Bay, then watch Mamma Mia, the musical based on the songs of Abba. We get there a bit early, so my sister suggests that we have some drinks before dinner.
We go to Red Square, where we start with 2 tasting flights of various vodkas from around the world. I really liked the Vincent Van Gogh fruit flavored vodkas. We were already a bit tipsy when we decided to go for the $50 32oz "Communist Martini". The martini glass it came in was so huge that people came up to our table just to take pictures with it :) My parents are not big drinkers, so I bit the bullet and drank about half of it. Delicious!
We paid the bill, did the buffet and I immediately stuffed myself with as much food as I could, hoping it would slow the vodka from entering my bloodstream.... No such luck. While my parents leisurely went back for 2nds and 3rds, I took a little nap at the table. I got the whole "denny, you shouldn't drink so much." Good advice, but honestly, this time, I was using my powers for good, not evil. It was really funny to see my folks tipsy tho.
After my nap, I pulled myself together, grabbed a huge bottle of water and settled in for a night of Abba. My parents REALLY enjoyed it, since they knew all the songs by heart. Well kinda, my mom swears that the lyrics to Money, money, money contains the line "Monday, Monday, Monday... is like a Sunday... in a rich man's world". :) The story itself is just a simple "who da baby daddy" mystery full of tongue-in-cheek humor. It wasn't a Les Miz, but it was just the perfect amount of thinking required for a guy with food coma, a pounding head and a stomach full of booze :)
